2018 Farm Act

Since the 2018 Farm Act was signed into law legalizing the cultivation of hemp, the use of CBD has surged over the last few years. So many are already learning that you can use it in many different forms. Whether you’re considering a CBD add-on in your post workout shake, morning coffee, ingesting it in gummy form or maybe just a droplet all on its own, it’s important to know and understand what it is and what it means for your health.

CBD is short for cannabidiol and is an essential component for medical cannabis. While it’s derived from the hemp plant, it’s actually not the same.

But let’s be honest, it’s been given somewhat of a ‘bad rap.’ Experts agree and studies show that CBD does not result in the ‘high’ that many assume it does.

A 2017 report by the World Health Organization, says that “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” The same study also shows that “to date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

In fact, recent findings coupled with its positive effects on multiple health-related ailments, have resulted in so many pushing to have it legalized. Research shows that CBD oil has been said to ease seizures, anxiety, depression and many other ailments. Studies also suggest that CBD may be an option when treating chronic pain.

An August 2019 Gallup poll found that one in seven Americans say they personally use CBD-based products.  Of those users, 40% say they use it to relieve pain, 20% use it to tame anxiety, 11% cite that they use it to tackle insomnia and 8% use it to relieve arthritis.

And while there is more research still to do, it’s clear that the industry is growing and Tap Root Fields is proud to be part of it.
